Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, daughter of former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, accused Punjab government of spreading false information regarding the recent blast and blamed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for funding terrorists.
The Punjab government claimed that the DHA’s Y block blast was a generator blast and not a terror attack. However, many refuted to the provincial government’s statement given the impact of the blast and the recent wave of terror attacks across the country.
When Media Times CEO Shehryar Taseer tweeted that a blast had engulfed Lahore, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s sister Aseefa Zardari questioned why the government still insisted that it was a generator blast. “Govt of Punjab still thinks it’s a generator,” she tweeted.Eight killed, 21 injured in bomb attack in Lahore’s Defence
To this, the official Twitter account of the Punjab government replied to Aseefa, “Madam, can we keep politics out for a while please? Kindly check our timeline to see all updates instead of quoting out of context. Thanks!”
This irked Aseefa and she replied by accusing the government of funding terrorists. “Perhaps Govt of Punjab should stop playing politics and funding terrorist activities from Muirdke. Patronising,” she lamented.
“Since I came to the attention of Punjab government, stop terrorising Pashtun’s who have suffered so much at the hands of terrorists,” she concluded with her last tweet, which the government had not responded till the filling of this report.
