MUZAFFARABAD: With recommencement of spell of rainfall along with snowfall after a gap of four days in Azad Jammu and Kashmir including Muzaffarabad areas mercury has dropped, while the land routes leading to Khel, Leepa and Athmuqam areas continued to remain closed for the last 28 days.
Over 0.4 million residents of Khel, Leepa and Athmuqam, Neelam Valley and adjoining cities continue to remain confined to their houses, while the residents are now facing shortage of food, medicine and other necessary items as the land routes leading to Muzaffarabad are blocked due to ongoing rain and snowfall in areas.
The residents have criticized the MPAS, local administration for sitting idle and not taking any effective initiatives for opening the blocked land routes leading to Muzaffarabad.
According to Met department, major cities and hilly areas of AJK will receive rainfall along with snowfall till Thursday night.
