Shama Parveen, a young woman aged 21, was found dead at her employer’s house on Saturday. Shama, at the end of 2017, started working as a domestic servant at the house of an influential man. At the fourth of March this year, her family was summoned by her employer to receive her body claiming that Shama committed suicide.
Considering the story fictitious, Shama’s father lodged the First Information Report (FIR) with the police. After conducting the post-mortem, it was found by the authorities that Shama was not only murdered but she was also raped.
The accused not only tried to assert his influence but also tried to pressurise the witnesses in order to weaken the prosecution’s case. However, the main prosecution witness eventually came forward and disclosed the true facts of the case before the court which approved that the accused did the wrongdoing. Currently, Shama’s family was being pressurised to withdraw the case, however the AGHS Legal Aid Cell was vigilantly overseeing and contesting the case. The accused filed a petition for pre-arrest bail. On behalf of the victim, Advocate High Court, Shabbir Hussain, would contest the bail.
