LAHORE: A soldier was martyred and another injured in Mohmand Agency when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Safi tehsil of the Mohmand Agency early Friday morning.
The blast took place when the security personnel was fetching water for a checkpoint in Chamarkund area. Another soldier accompanying him was injured and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
The injured was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Security personnel gathered at the site of the blast and launched a search operation in the adjacent areas.
