ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Executive Board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal.
The board authorized to continue investigation against the management of Ms Aleshiam Holdings Pvt limited. Waseem Aslam Butt, former chief executive Kamran Kiyani and Hammad Arshad were accused of delivering illegal allotment certificates of DHA Islamabad.
An inquiry was also authorised chief executive Drug Regulatory Authority Muhammad Aslam Afghni. The appointment of Afghani was illegal and caused million of rupee losses to the national kitty. The executive board authorised inquiry against CDA and BNP group officers and others for misuse of authority and causing losses to the tune of Rs 2.915 billion to the National Exchequer.
The meeting decided to conduct inquiry against director Drug Regulatory Authority Akhtar Hussein for having assets beyond known sources of income. A reference would also filed against Mian Abuzar and others for illegally selling 800 kanal government land on through away prices. Another reference has been authorised against Khalid Mehmood Chaddar and others for million rupee losses to national exchequer by buying 800 Kanal through illegal means.
The executive board authorised filing corruption reference against Syed Asif Hashmi for being involved in illegal appointment in Pakistan Educational Institutions.
The meeting approved filing three different references against former MPA Malik Muhammad Rafiq Khar,officers of Revenue department and others for misuse of authority and illegal allotment of land. Yet another inquiry was approved against former IG Farooq Nazir who is accused of having assets beyond known sources of income.
Executive board authorised inquiries against NGOs and INGOs for misuse of funds and embezzlement. The board approved closed inquiries against officers of Punjab Highways and Management of Islamia University Bahawalpur owing to absence of solid proof. Justice Javed ordered avoiding pending the inquiries for long and take the cases to logical conclusion within prescribed time. Earlier the chairman met with complainants at open Ketchery and listen the complaints himself and ordered resolving the complaints. Complainants thanked the chairman NAB.
