MIRPUR KHAS: AWARE organized an event to mark the global hand washing day at village Sabhri near Umerkot. Naheed Atta highlighted the background and origin of Global Hand Washing Day on the occasion and said that practice of hand washing with soap in routine life could prevent the disease transmission.
“Mostly diseases take place due to unclean hands and this is a major reason of diarrheal and other diseases,” she told the participants. Koshilia Bai briefed that hand washing with soap at critical times is very simple and cost-effective solution as it can reduce the incidence of diarrheal among children under five by almost 50 percent, and respiratory infections by nearly 25 percent.
