ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and China will continue to work in various fields of science and technology, Joint Technological Adviser of Ministry of Science Khalid Siddiq said on Friday.
He expressed these views while talking to the delegation of Chinese representatives of variety of science and technology related companies. He thanked the delegation on behalf of Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain and Federal Secretary Fazal Abbas Maken for visiting the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The delegation consisted of members and representatives of variety of Chinese companies from the fields of electronics, energy, automobiles, petro-chemicals and agricultural sector. The President of the delegation expressed his gratitude over interest of Ministry in carrying forward talks of mutual interest in energy, petro-chemicals and agriculture sector.
“Focus on science and technology sector was required for any country to progress in today’s world,” he said. Khalid said Pakistan is lucky to have a friend like China which has shown full interest and commitment in fulfilling the needs in fields of Science and Technology.
“We also assure the Chinese friends of our cooperation and technical collaboration for mutual benefit of the two brotherly countries,” he said. The delegation also showed great interest in National Science and Technology Park being constructed in Islamabad with the cooperation of China.
PCSIR Chairman Dr Shahzad Alam invited the Chinese delegation to pay a visit to PCSIR laboratories in Lahore. He also informed the delegation about the Rs 800 million worth of new PCSIR laboratory being set up in Gwadar.
