ISLAMABAD: Former Senate chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and his son Ajrar Hussain today got bail in a case of thrashing a cop at the district courts.
The court granted them bail and ordered to submit surety bonds worth of Rs 100,000 each. Bukhari had reportedly misbehaved with the constable and then his son slapped him, after he attempted to search the former chairman Senate before entering the court premises.
Both were earlier granted interim bail till May 16. Islamabad High Court (IHC) Bar president Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri appeared on behalf of Nayyar Hussain Bokhari and prayed the court to confirm the bail. The court accepted the plea. The case was registered against both father and son in Margalla police station for pushing and slapping a policeman.
Trial will start as soon as challan is presented. The police constable said, he was deployed on duty outside the court and engaged in body search of people entering the premises, when two people entered without body search. The policeman alleged that the former Senate chairman used profane language and verbally abused him when he asked to search him, while his son Jarrar Bukhari slapped him.
